Being a good neighbour starts with small, thoughtful actions that build a stronger, safer, and more connected community. Whether it’s keeping your property tidy, respecting noise limits, or lending a hand when someone needs it, every gesture counts. Let’s work together to make Wellington North a place we’re all proud to call home.
Respect your neighbours:
- Be mindful of property lines when building fences, trimming trees, or performing landscaping. Refer to our Property Safety and Guidelines page.
- Keep noise levels respectful, especially during early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, to maintain a peaceful neighbourhood for everyone. Noise By-Law.
- If you plan to use fireworks, consider your neighbours—choose appropriate times, keep noise to a minimum, and ensure everyone’s safety, especially pets and children. Refer to our Property Safety and Guidelines page.
Keep Property Tidy:
- Keep your yard tidy by regularly removing litter, debris, and overgrown vegetation to help maintain a welcoming neighbourhood appearance. Clean Yards By-Law.
- Always clean up after your dog when out for a walk—it's a simple way to show respect for shared spaces and fellow residents.
- Clear snow and ice from your property to keep it safe and accessible, but do not push snow onto roads or sidewalks—doing so can create hazards and violates the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
Enjoy Time with Friends and Family:
- Check out our Wellington North programs, like pickleball, day camp, swimming, and skating! And lots more coming soon!
- Wellington North offers beautiful parks, scenic trails, and open greenspaces! Perfect for taking a walk or simply relaxing in nature.
- Need a bigger space to host your event, check out one of our available facilities!
- Campfires are a great way to unwind, but they must be done safely and responsibly. While campfires do not require a burn permit, they must still follow the guidelines outlined in the Burn By-Law [PDF/398KB]. Always ensure your fire is supervised, contained, and fully extinguished when finished. Being fire-smart helps protect your property, your neighbours, and the environment.
