Building a Safer Wellington North

Community Safety

At Wellington North, community safety is a priority. Programs and resources are available to help keep neighbourhoods safe and connected. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiatives, Crime Stoppers, and local partnerships provide practical tools, tips, and contacts for crime prevention and promoting well-being. Together, we can build a safe, sustainable, and welcoming community.

Ontario Provincial Police

The Ontario Provincial Police have a range of initiatives - like CAMSafe, SafeGuard Ontario, Lock It or Lose It, and Auto Theft Prevention, where they provide practical tools and strategies to protect homes, vehicles, and public spaces.  Community safety works best when everyone participates: report suspicious activity to help police know where to patrol by calling 1-888-310-1122 (NON-Emergencies only), and in the case of an Emergency always call 9-1-1 immediately if you witness a crime in progress.

Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington

Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW) is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to making our communities safer by encouraging members of the public to report information about crimes - anonymously and confidentially. CSGW works in partnership with local police, the media, and the community.

  • Crime Stoppers is an alternative method of reporting criminal activity by keeping the tipster anonymous. Crime Stoppers is not the police. Crime Stoppers acts as the middleman and forwards your (the Tipster’s) information to the appropriate investigative agency.
  • For more Frequently Asked Questions about CGWS, visit the CGWS How it Works webpage.
