• What are the day camp locations?

  We operate day camp out of three locations:

  • Arthur: Arthur & Area Community Centre; Upper Leisure Hall
    158 Domville Street, Arthur
  • Mount Forest: Mount Forest Curling Club
    144 Egremont Street South, Mount Forest
  • Damascus: Damascus Community Hall
    8947 Wellington Road 16, Damascus
• What is the cost to attend day camp?

  Rate Type	Camp Rate (no HST)
  Weekly Rate (5 days)	$195.00
  Weekly Rate (4 days)*	$156.00

  * The four day weekly rate will be applied to Session 1 and Session 6 of Camp only.
  The Township is excited to share that hot dogs and pizza will be included in the fee this year. Hot dogs will be provided on Wednesdays, and pizza will be provided on Fridays. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let the Site Leaders know and indicate it on your parent package. Additionally we recommend, that campers continue to bring healthy snacks and drinks for nutrition break on these days. 

• Can I receive additional support for my child?

  Campers that require additional support so that they can be fully included and supported at our camp program, are welcome to bring a volunteer or family member, 16 years of age or older, to join them and support in this capacity. Additionally, our camp works with the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington - Supporting Kids in Camp (SKIC) Program.

  Supporting Kids in Camp (SKIC)

  Supporting Kids in Camp (SKIC) provides children who have special needs with trained and experienced one-to-one workers, called Support Counsellors, so that they may attend specialized and/or integrated community camps. There is no cost to families for this service!

• Cancellation and Refund Policy

  General

  1. Refunds will not be granted once a course or program has been completed.
     Refunds requested after the start of a course or program will only be issued for medical reasons.
  2. A $10.00 administration fee applies to all refund applications, except for those exceptions outlined below, or cancelled by the Recreation, Community & Economic Development Department.
  3. A full refund will be issued for any course or program cancelled by the Recreation, Community & Economic Development Department, with no administration fee applied, notwithstanding clauses listed above.
  4. No administration fee will be charged for transfers within a program.
  5.  Refunds will not be issued for swimming lessons cancelled due to inclement weather or facility closures, except in the following cases:
     1. If more than 40% of classes are impacted (4 out of 10 lessons) a request can be made for consideration for partial reimbursement of the program pending review.
     2. If a private or semi-private class is cancelled. The township will work to provide alternative lesson dates.

  Refund Procedure

  • 10 Business Days or More: Cancellations made 10 business days or more before the course or program start date will receive a full refund, minus a $10.00 administration fee.
  • 5 Business Days or More: Cancellations made 5 business days or more before the course or program start date will receive a 50% refund of the program fee. The administration fee will be waived.
  • 5 Business Days or Less: Cancellations made 5 business days or less before the course or program start date will not be eligible for a refund. The administration fee will be waived.

• How do I know if my child is ready for Camp?

  • My child is successful at doing daily activities such as using the washroom and changing themselves.
  • My child can take direction from camp staff to participate in the program.
  • My child feels comfortable interacting in a group environment to the best of their ability.
  • My child can participate in a manner that is safe for themselves and others.
