Wellington North Fire acts as an effective team to proactively protect and enhance the township’s livability by serving and educating our community, preventing harm and responding to emergencies.
We are a volunteer fire service comprised of 1 Full Time Director of Fire Services, 2 Full Time Deputy Chiefs, 2 volunteer District Chiefs and approximately 50 volunteer firefighters.

Burn Permits
As General Information, there is a By-Law for open air burning in place in the Township of Wellington North. Please review the Burn By-Law (PDF) and submit an online application. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Online applications can take up to 2 business days to process. (Note: We do no issue burn permits within urban areas. Please refer to Section 5.2 and Section 6 of the Burn By-Law (PDF). You do not require a burn permit for a backyard campfire.)
