The Township of Wellington North is dedicated to addressing the needs of all its residents. By acknowledging the diverse needs within our community, we strive to offer services and facilities that are accessible to everyone. As both an employer and a service provider, the Township is committed to ensuring accessibility in all its services. We continue to support the goal of an accessible Ontario by 2025 through the implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). The Township also maintains a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (PDF) and an Accessible Standards Policy (PDF) [PDF/171KB]

How We Can Help

The Township is committed to providing accessible customer service. Upon request, we can:

  • Provide Township documents in alternative formats, where possible.
  • Offer communication supports to help residents access information.
  • Work with residents to meet accessibility needs when accessing Township services.
  • Receive and respond to feedback about accessibility barriers.

Accessible Facilities 

The Township remains compliant with AODA standards and many Township facilities include accessibility features such as:

  • Accessible entrances
  • Accessible washrooms (including portable washrooms) 
  • Elevators where available 
  • Accessible parking spaces 
  • Accessible customer service

Meetings and Events 

The Township strives to make public meetings and events accessible.

Residents who require accommodation to participate in a meeting or event are encouraged to contact the Township in advance. We will work with you to determine appropriate accommodations wherever possible.

Employment Accessibility 

The Township of Wellington North is committed to fair, inclusive, and accessible employment practices. 

Accommodation is available throughout the recruitment, selection, and employment process in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Accessibility Advisory Committee

The Township works with the County of Wellington Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee to identify, prevent, and remove barriers to accessibility within our community.
