2026 Municipal and School Board Election: Information for Electors
- The Municipal and School Board Election will be held on October 26, 2026.
- You may vote if, on voting day, you:
- Live in the local municipality or are the owner or tenant of land in the municipality, or the spouse of an owner or tenant
- Are a Canadian citizen
- Are at least 18 years old
- Are not prohibited from voting by law
- You are not eligible to vote if you are:
- Serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution
- A corporation
- Acting as an executor, trustee, or in any other representative capacity, except as a voting proxy
- Convicted of a corrupt practice in the 2018 Municipal Election, as described in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996
- Until August 12, 2026, you can visit Register to Vote Ontario to:
- Check whether you are on the voters’ list
- Confirm or update your school support
- Add yourself to the voters’ list if you are not already included
- Eligible voters may vote for:
- Mayor
- One Councillor in Ward 1, 2, 3, or 4 (depending on where you live)
- One County Councillor in Ward 2 or Ward 3 (depending on where you live)
- Depending on your school support, you may vote for one Trustee from one of the following boards:
- Upper Grand District School Board
- Wellington Catholic School Board
- Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir (French Separate)
- Conseil scolaire Viamonde (French Public)
- In Wellington North, voting in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will be conducted by mail.At the end of September, a voter kit will be mailed to each eligible elector on the voters’ list. Completed kits may be returned by mail or hand‑delivered to the secure drop box at 7490 Sideroad 7 West, Kenilworth.
Ballots can be mailed back using the postage paid envelope in your voter's kit.
Ballots can also be dropped off 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the secure drop box at the Township of Wellington North Municipal Office, 7490 Sideroad 7 West, Kenilworth.

October 10, 2026 | 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.Arthur and Area Community Centre

October 17, 2026 | 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.Your voter’s kit includes everything you need to vote by mail. Follow the instructions provided in the kit to complete your ballot and return it by mail or by using the secure drop box.
What should I use to mark my ballot?
Please complete your ballot using a black pen or black marker only.
Do not use pencil, as pencil marks may smudge or fade and could result in your ballot not being counted.
