Wellington North Fire Services (WNFS)

WNFS acts as an effective team to proactively protect and enhance the Township’s livability by serving and educating our community, preventing harm and responding to emergencies. We are a volunteer fire service comprised of 1 full-time Director of Fire Services, 2 full-time Deputy Chiefs, 2 volunteer District Chiefs and approximately 50 volunteer firefighters.

Burn Permits and Fire Inspections

Create a free Community Connect account to request burn permits online. It just takes your email, phone number and address to get started.
If your proposed fire will exceed 3 m (10 ft) in diameter and/or 2 m (6 ft) in height, please select the Oversized Rural burn permit. A Fire Prevention Officer will contact you within three business days to arrange an inspection and approval.
Burn Permits can also be requested by calling the Township of Wellington North 519-848-3620 or emailing township@wellington-north.com at least 24 hours in advance.

Wellington North Fire Service assists building owners with requests for building inspections to achieve compliance with the Ontario Fire Code.

The majority of fire inspections are completed on a by request basis. To request an inspection, create a free Community Connect account for Business Owners. Inspections can also be requested by contacting Deputy Chief Marco Guidotti at M.guidotti@mintofiredept.on.ca or 519-343-3735.

File searches
To determine if there are fire code violations on a property, you require a letter from the person requesting the file search and written authorization from the current owner giving permission to conduct the search. File searches are $200.00. Please contact 519-343-3735 to get started.
