PUBLIC WORKS - ROADS

The Township of Wellington North maintains approximately 373km of roads including 50 main culverts and 43 bridge structures. The Public Works Department of Wellington North consists of 13 employees. This includes a Manager of Public Works, four Foremen and eight unionized Labourer/drivers. The Manager of Public Works Office is in the Township Municipal Office in Kenilworth with a Foreman working out each of the four works yards. There is a yard located in Arthur, Arthur Township at Kenilworth, Mount Forest and West Luther Township at Damascus.

This department is responsible for all aspects of road construction and maintenance as well as winter maintenance operations. Normal working hours for staff at each yard is Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4pm. These hours will vary depending on the work being performed (ie snow ploughing). The Works Department is responsible for maintaining Township roads, culverts and bridges, permits and applications, policies.

Annual Tree Planting

The Township’s annual tree planting program takes place in April. Stay tuned for more information

Brush Pick-up

Monthly brush pick-up commences in Arthur the first Thursday of May and in Mount Forest the last Thursday of April for the summer months.
