Animal Control – Dog LicenCing
Animal Control ensures a safe and healthy environment for both our residents and animals in our Township.
Jo-Alan Animal Care Services is contracted to provide animal control services to the Township of Wellington North enforcing the Township’s Dog By-law. Jo-Alan Animal Care Services can be contacted at all times for assistance.

All dogs in Wellington North must be registered and licenced with the municipality annually.
For further information about dog and kennel licencing, contact the Clerk’s Office located at the Township of Wellington North Municipal Office in Kenilworth, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Livestock Claims
To file a Livestock claim under the Livestock Protection Act, please contact Clerk’s Office at the Township of Wellington North Municipal Office in Kenilworth.
Licencing
Licences must be obtained by the Township of Wellington North for the following, Transient Traders, Door to Door and Refreshment and Food Vehicles. To apply for a licence, a completed application form must be forwarded with applicable fees to the Clerk’s Department of the Township of Wellington North. Please contact the Township Clerk’s Department for an application form, or download the appropriate form below.
Birth, Death & Marriages
Request for a Birth Certificate
Once your baby’s birth is registered with the Office of the Registrar General for the Province of Ontario, you can apply for a birth certificate. Birth Certificates are issued by the Office of the Registrar General. Applications are available from the Wellington North Municipal Office or from the link below.
Request for Marriage or Death Certificate
Application forms are available from the Wellington North Municipal Office or from the link below. Marriage and Death Certificates are issued by the Office of the Registrar General for the Province of Ontario. All completed applications and payments must be directed to the Office of the Registrar General for the Province of Ontario.
Marriage licences can be issued by the Township Clerk or Deputy Clerk.
An appointment is necessary for the issuance of a marriage licence. Please contact the Municipal Office at 519-848-3620 to arrange an appointment with the Deputy Clerk. A Marriage Licence Application form can be downloaded from the link below.
Licence Fee: $100.00
The licence expires 3 months after the date of issue. A marriage licence is valid for use anywhere in Ontario.

Cemetery
The Township of Wellington North owns and maintains the Mount Forest Cemetery located on Sligo Road East, Mount Forest, Ontario.For more information regarding the Mount Forest Cemetery, please contact the Clerk's Office located at the Township of Wellington North Municipal Office in Kenilworth, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by phone at 519-848-3620.

Commissioning and Certification
Commissioning and Certification of Documents – only documents considered to be municipal related/government forms will be commissioned by the Clerk or Deputy Clerk. A fee of $10.00 per document will apply for the following: Birth & Death Certificates, Change of Name Act Application, Out of Country Pension Forms, Health Unit Inoculation Forms, Vehicle Transfers and other approved forms or documents.
